League Of Ireland Transfer Round Up

League Of Ireland Transfer Round Up

The League Of Ireland can be a difficult place to get a definitive list of transfers for the upcoming season. The list I have collated is not definitive but it is an extensive listing of the SSE Airtricity league Premier Division transfers.

A lot of strikers have sought out pastures new for 2016 with the likes of Dinny Corcoran and Billy Dennehy joining Pats from Sligo and Cork respectively. These are to replace Killian Brennan who has left Inchicore to join Shamrock Rovers. The Dennehy brothers are now both playing with Pats who have also signed David Cawley from Sligo amongst a host of others.

Dundalk’s main signing is Patrick McEleney from Derry City and that transfer involved an actual fee. The onus will fall on him and Ronan Finn to step up to the plate to replace the goals lost by Richie Towell moving to Brighton.

Michael Schlingermann was one of the most sought after signings in the country after Drogheda Utd’s relegation. He eventually joined up with the transformation at Sligo Rovers who have added no less than twelve players to their squad.

Bray Wanderers have also been busy with Ryan Brennan and Conor Kenna (something of a coup) joining from Shamrock Rovers. They are part of a team full of signings for The Seagulls.

Bohemians have signed Kurtis Byrne from Dundalk and Mark Quigley from Derry City while Cork have to replace the Dennehys and Liam Miller. They have signed Eoghan O Connell on loan from Celtic in a defensive capacity.

Derry City’s new manager, Kenny Shiels, has looked to his old stalking grounds in Scotland while Rory Patterson also returns to the club. Longford, Galway and Finn Harps have made plenty of additions with Vinny Faherty a notable signing for Galway from relegated Limerick.

The following list may not be complete, or entirely correct. If you spot any omissions or entries in need of correction let everyone know by commenting at the bottom of the page.

Nearly there now.
